Our R&D team hones their flavour creations using cutting-edge technologies and unique expertise.
Attentive to needs and market trends, our flavourists, evaluators and lab technicians create, modify, adapt and improve the flavour creations in our flavourings library each day.

New formulations are developed on a daily basis, and analyses are carried out and validated inside our laboratories using cutting-edge analytical equipment.
For example, we have recently acquired a DHS-GC-TOFMS. This gas chromatograph features automated solvent-free extraction systems and a variable-temperature injector, making it capable of detecting thermolabile volatile compounds. This system is complemented by a time-of-flight mass spectrometer.
“Creation and innovation are central to our company strategy. Developing new flavours involves various technological and organoleptic phases, and requires close collaboration with our customers.”
Our R&D engineers conduct active and regular technological monitoring, enabling them to discover and master new raw materials and processes. This knowledge, coupled with creativity, enables us to offer the best solutions to every new technical or organoleptic request, while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements.
Through partnerships with two world-renowned universities, Expressions Aromatiques combines fundamental and applied research. A European patent filed and granted in 2018, along with a peer-reviewed publication validated in 2022, demonstrate our commitment to innovation.

In order to avert any risk of physical, chemical or microbiological contamination, and to ensure the quality and integrity of products, we apply a systematic approach to quality control at every stage of the production process: from the control of raw materials and semi-finished products (bases, solutions and key bases), right through to the finished products.
We use high-performance analytical equipment that meets the highest traceability and accuracy standards, to ensure rigorous qualitative and quantitative monitoring of our raw materials and products. Our quality control team’s expertise, both organoleptic and scientific, is essential to this process.

Flavours are tested and evaluated in realistic conditions inside our applications laboratory. New sweet and savoury recipes are being developed and Improved every day to offer flavour creations perfectly suited to a wide range of food applications.

The development of our sensory analysis unit, which is compliant with Afnor standards, enables us to create sensory profiles, carry out various standardised tests and train our in-house panel, composed of initiated and expert assessors.
This analytical process, assisted by software and conducted in a controlled atmosphere, supports our scientific team throughout the development and control process for our flavour ranges.
